We all know that when you’re trying to lose a few extra pounds, drinking and dieting don’t exactly go hand and hand.  Some of our favorite party drinks contain as many calories as a Big Mac or Chipotle Burrito and enough sugar to put you over the edge!  Right!

If you’re truly trying to drop some serious pounds you should ideally limit yourself to no more than 1-2 drinks/week, if any at all.  I know, I know, I can hear you already, “But come on, sometimes a girl just wants to have a little fun”!  Well, my fabulous socialites, you can now rejoice!

I have prepared a collection of 8 of the most delicious low calorie alcoholic drinks that you can happily drink without guilt.  These drinks are low in calories and sugar and won’t be sending you to the gym the next day for 8 hours just to burn it all off!

1. Mojito Makeover– 140 calories

How to:

2 ounces light rum

1 ounce Splenda syrup, Da Vinci’s Sugar Free Sweetener Syrup

1 ounce lime juice

7 mint leaves

Splash of club soda

In a shaker, muddle mint leaves and a lime wedge. Add ice and other ingredients and shake. Pour into tall glass and top with soda.

2. Frozen Lime Margarita– 122 calories

How to:

12 oz. can frozen limeade concentrate

2/3 c. tequila

1/2 c. light orange juice

4 c. ice cubes

1/2 medium lime

Coarse salt

Orange slices

In a blender container combine limeade concentrate, tequila, and orange juice. Cover and blend until combined. With blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid, blending until mixture becomes slushy.

Cut a thick lime slice; cut slice in half. Rub slices around rims of eight glasses. Dip rims into a dish of coarse salt to coat rims. Pour mixture into prepared glasses. Garnish glasses with orange slices, if desired.

3.  Rum Punch– 191 calories

How to:

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

4 cups mango juice, chilled (such as Looza brand)

3 cups pineapple juice, chilled

1 1/2 cups dark rum

1/3 cup fresh lime juice (about 3 limes)

1/4 cup grenadine

3 cups club soda, chilled

Combine sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over high heat; bring to a boil. Cook until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; transfer sugar mixture to a small bowl. Chill.

Combine sugar mixture, mango juice, and next 4 ingredients (through grenadine) in a large bowl; mix well. Stir in soda. Serve over ice.

4. Kiwi Colada– 143 calories

How to:

5 peeled kiwifruit, divided

3 cups ice

1/4 cup light rum

1/4 cup Midori (melon-flavored liqueur)

3 tablespoons Cream of Coconut (such as Coco Lopez)

1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained

Cut 4 kiwifruit into quarters, and place in a blender. Set remaining kiwifruit aside. Add ice and remaining ingredients to blender; process until smooth. Strain mixture through a sieve into a pitcher; discard seeds. Divide evenly among 6 glasses. Cut remaining kiwifruit into 6 slices; garnish each glass with 1 kiwifruit slice.

5.  Piña Colada– 158 calories

How to:

2 cups flaked sweetened coconut

1 (12-ounce) can evaporated fat-free milk

2 cups cubed fresh pineapple

2 1/2 cups ice cubes

3/4 cup gold rum (such as Bacardi Gold)

1/4 cup pineapple juice

2 tablespoons light agave nectar

8 fresh pineapple slices

Combine 2 cups coconut and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat, and cook until tiny bubbles form around edge (do not boil), about 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or up to overnight.

Arrange pineapple in a single layer on a baking sheet; freeze at least 1 hour or until firm.

Strain coconut mixture through a sieve over a medium bowl, pressing coconut with the back of a spoon to remove as much milk as possible. Discard solids.

Combine pineapple, ice cubes, rum, juice, and agave nectar in a blender; process mixture until smooth. Add milk mixture, and process until smooth. Serve with pineapple slices.

6. Hibiscus Margarita– 205 calories

How to:

1 cup dried hibiscus blossoms (about 2 ounces)

3 cups water

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/4 cups tequila

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

1/3 cup Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur

8 lime slices

Place blossoms in a strainer; rinse under cold water. Combine blossoms, water, and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Strain; discard blossoms. Cover and chill hibiscus mixture.

Combine hibiscus mixture, tequila, juice, and Triple Sec. Serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices.

7. Mango Margarita with a twist– 178 calories

How to:

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup fresh orange juice

1/2 cup tequila

1/4 cup mango nectar

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup Triple Sec

3 Champagne mangoes, peeled, seeded, chopped, and frozen (about 3 cups)

3 dried pequín chiles or chiles de árbol

1 cup ice

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided

3/8 teaspoon sugar

1 lime wedge

Combine 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons sugar in a microwave-safe glass measuring cup; microwave at HIGH 2 minutes. Stir until sugar dissolves. Combine sugar mixture, orange juice, and next 6 ingredients (through chiles) in a blender, and process until smooth. Add ice to blender; pulse to combine. Stir in 1/8 teaspoon salt. Chill in refrigerator 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes.

Combine remaining salt and 3/8 teaspoon sugar in a saucer. Rub the rims of 6 glasses with 1 lime wedge; spin rim of each glass in salt mixture to coat. Fill each glass with about 2/3 cup margarita.

8. Whiskey Punch– 160 calories

How to:

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup water

2 1/2 cups refrigerated fresh orange juice

2 cups bourbon

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 large lemons)

3 cups chilled club soda

Fresh orange slices (optional)

Combine sugar and 1/3 cup water in a 1-cup glass measure. Microwave at HIGH 2 minutes; stir until sugar dissolves. Cool to room temperature.  Combine sugar mixture, orange juice, bourbon, and lemon juice in a large pitcher; stir well. Stir in club soda just before serving.
