Why Giving 110% Will Boost Your Self-Confidence

We’ve all done it. Quickly rushed through a project at work just to get it “over and done with.” Went to the gym only to chit chat with friends and gave a half-assed effort at a workout afterwards saying to yourself, “at least something is better than nothing.” Not studying hard enough for your exams at school and failing a test, maybe even failing a class, which resulted in spending too many years on a degree that should have taken half the time to complete. Or, being in a relationship and not caring enough about what you both need to stay connected, and then watching it fail.

Dangers of Being Unproductive

When you don’t give a damn about whatever you’re pursuing in life, you are operating at a lower level. You’re compromising your talents, gifts, and what makes you uniquely you by not caring. You’re allowing yourself to form bad habits and negative attitudes. Ultimately, you are saying to the world that you lack confidence and self-esteem and live a life of fear and procrastination. Now, I’m not talking about the occasional lackadaisical approach to a task or project. Rather, I am speaking of constantly moving through life with an unproductive mindset. Furthermore, failing to give life your “all” will only open the door to feelings of regret when you realize the time you’ve wasted. You cannot continue to live as if you don’t deserve any better than the mediocrity you’ve been selling yourself. You have to learn how to give 110% to boost your self-confidence and move forward.

The Benefits of Giving 110%

I know this is either ringing true deep down inside of you or you’re thinking, “Well, that’s just bat crazy! Nobody can give 110% to everything all day every day.” And, you’re right – you can’t! There must be balance in order to reach a measurable level of success. When you identify the things that matter most to you and give your best effort, your life will DRASTICALLY improve. When you choose to give 110%, you will see changes in your life for the better.

1. Relationships: When those close to you can see and feel that you genuinely care and do what it takes to maintain happy and healthy relationships, they will be more likely reciprocate the effort. What goes around comes around. The more love you send; the more you will receive. These aren’t empty clichés. Enriching and deepening your connections and sense of belonging with those around you will create a wealth of fulfillment within you. Consequently, knowing that you gave all to a broken friendship or relationship will help to unveil whether or not it’s worth pursuing any longer.

2. Career: Working hard and doing the best you can on the smallest of tasks up to the biggest of projects will earn you recognition. Even if you don’t feel like your input and effort is significant, believe me when I say you are a piece of a puzzle that needs you in order to function. If you feel you aren’t employed at your dream job, hard work does not go unnoticed and doors will open for you when you least expect it.

3. Health and wellness: Making the conscious choice to eat better, workout consistently, and get more sleep will reduce stress, increase energy, and improve your mood. Overall, a healthier way
of living will allow you to pursue things in life you wouldn’t have ever been capable of as your old self.

4. Spirituality: Devoting time and effort towards a spiritual practice will give you a sense of community, get you through tough times, relieve stress, and give more meaning to your life.

Next time you have to make a choice, first ask yourself, “Will this get me closer to where I want to be? Can I give it my all?” Those two questions will help elevate your thinking, be selective on where you expend your energy and push you to be better, stronger, wiser, and bulletproof!
Giving 110% to the areas in your life that you care about most, will drastically improve your self-confidence, happiness and life for the better. Every day you have a choice. You can choose to give it your all or give something less.

Hope this helps…
