4 Simple Tips to Staying Healthy While Traveling

While vacations and visiting family during the holidays are much-welcomed breaks from normal day-today activities, it can hinder your commitment to healthy living during the time you are away from home. Your home life routine allows you to fit in your workout regimen, nutritious meals and self-care practices in your daily life, but traveling can indeed throw you off your schedule. Unfortunately, it can even set you back a few steps in terms of your fitness and eating goals.

At Live Lethal, we believe it’s imperative to have a healthy body and mind wherever you roam, so here are 4 tips on how to stay healthy while traveling:

1. Eat smart: Be wise about holiday party spreads and eating while at restaurants. There are always healthier food choices at the banquet table or on the menu that will not diminish the progress you’ve made in the previous months.

2. Find creative ways to work out: Working out in a new place can be tough, unless you plan ahead and are resourceful. You can find a local class to attend or, better yet, get out in nature and take advantage of where you are, such as with hiking, skiing, snowboarding, swimming and windsurfing.

3. Continue positive self-talk: Spending time with family and friends may bring joy, but it can also bring lots of questions from well-meaning loved ones about your relationships, career, plans for a family or your choice in parenting style. At the end of the day, or when you feel frustrated, engage in positive self-talk to give yourself a boost. Reassure yourself you are doing what is right for you at this particular point in time when considering your own set of life circumstances and personal values you hold.

4. Carve out some alone time when you need it: You may feel pressured to be surrounded by your loved ones at all times, especially during the holidays, but everyone needs to replenish their energy. When you feel drained, it’s okay to meditate for a spell, practice yoga poses or simply take a nap to revitalize yourself before rejoining the gang.

Traveling can leave you with beautiful memories and also keep you on track with staying healthy if you are proactive in your commitment to a healthier way of living. Share your tips on how you stay healthy while traveling and help the Live Lethal community members live a healthy life no matter where they are.

Hope this helps… Yours for More Confidence, More Often,
